Loving Everything Natural!

Have you every thought about going from Perm hair to Natural hair? Before you go there read below. I was lucky enough to meet a classy lady and single mom (Tanisha) who did just that! And now she is willing to give us a inside look to what it takes for you to do just that!

How long have you been wearing your hair natural and what made you go from a perm hair to natural hair?

After the birth of my daughter I started loosing hair around my hairline my aunt suggested that maybe I need to stop relaxing my edges so I said hmmm if I am going to stop perming my edges I might as well stop perming my whole head and that’s when the journey began.

How many years did you wear a relaxer and how long did the natural hair process take you?

I got my first relaxer at 13, my hair was relaxed for 14 years. I got a short cut like Rihanna so my transition from relax to natural was over in less than six months. I have been natural for about 2yrs

Is the transformation from premed hair to natural hair a very easy process to do in the beginning?

Nooooooooooo it was very hard for me because at that time I felt like there is nothing like the relaxed hair.

I’m sure there were times you were very frustrated during your transformation period, what made you continue and not give up?

Yes many days of frustration but I was amazed by how fast my hair started growing and I knew once the transition was over life would be easier. Natural hair feels sooooooooo much better than relax hair I will never relax my hair for as I live!

Do you have any tips you could give someone who wanted to go natural?

I say take a chance and do it stop talking about it. Perming your hair and putting chemicals in your hair is a risk so why not try something that is healthy you have nothing to lose

From your own natural hair experience you have now started educating other women, who are also interested in going natural, and you also started styling and doing natural hair?

After I completed my natural journey I wanted to educate and guide others through the process.
Natural hair needs moisture. Moisture will keep the hair from breaking and promote growth.
My goal is help ladies transition from relax to natural smoothly and help them when they get a little frustrated.
I currently offer shampoo, hydration treatment, trim if needed blow out and flat iron. Hydration is stream therapy the stream opens up the pores of the scalp and allows deep conditioning and moisture to get the hair follicle. Steam therapy also helps soften your curl pattern as well which make new growth more manageable.

*Shampoo, Hydration treatment, trim (if needed), blow out and flat iron are all included for $35.00 This price also includes children 8 years and older, if you would like your child to just have a shampoo and blow out the charge will be $20*
